I contracted the Oldhammer plague

This is just a quick post with my last models, painted in one day each (maybe a little more for the demon).

It was a blast to make these test models before I tackle my whole collection this summer. I'm determined to build and paint what used to be my first Warhammer army (although I sold everything 25 years ago)..

First, this (Khorne) Chaos Warrior on foot:

He looks gritty because he primer coat was a mess because, as you all know by now, Spain is hell on earth from June to October and even 6:00 AM is a bad time for spray priming (minimum temperatures of 24ºC, can you imagine that?). Other than that I'm pretty happy how the red looks in person and that red body & black head will be the scheme for the bigger infantry unit.

The next one is one of my favourite models of all time. I considered leaving him for the last batch, but come on, a man needs an indulgence now and then, right? It was hard to decide between the more plan & saturated style from the Warhammer Armies: Chaos book and a more "modern and rich skin tones" approach, so I ended doing this:

The red Nurgling (and the red boils) are there because this is the only Plaguebearer with the sword inside the sheath and red is the accent colour for all the non-Khorne units. It looks nicer in your hand, I promise.

I'm pretty happy with the pink on the wounds and the tongue (I've been using that in other minis but this time looks better).

What I took from this process is that I never got tired of adding more little touches and stuff to those models, in opposition to what happens with modern plastic models: I finish them as soon as I feel bored. This didn't happen this week.

Next test model is the Chaos Thug (with bow), then rebasing the nurglings and the minotaur, and after that we'll see.

I hope you like him as much as I do. Leave your comments or what you would like to see / paint on the rest below 😉
